January, 2011. "Bottled in 2010" on the Label. 7 ounce bottle, made with some local hops and malts, well done.<br /><br />Pour:<br />Cloudy, actually unexpectedly cloudy, nice golden to peach color and opaque.<br /><br />Aroma:<br />Shortcake, fruit - strawberries or ripe mango, little bit of acetone, floral hops. Lacing that hangs around till I'm done. Not ridiculous, but pretty substantial.<br /><br />Flavor:<br />Tingling hop flavor with yellow cake and fruit cup at first, honey and alcohol warmth with hawaiian sweet bread and lychee candy in the mid-range (esoteric, but this thing is fruity), finish is lingering grapefruit pith bitterness with a hint of spiciness.<br /><br />So what?:<br />This is a big ass beer in a little bottle. Fruity and interesting. Might go well with some cave aged gruyere or that kind of funky cheese that comes in the little red wax wheels. I really liked the aromas, and I'd consider having a bit more, but really 7 oz. is probably plenty for anyone. Like all Rogue beers, I'd buy more if it wasn't so damn pricey. Very good, but not earth shattering.
